SIXTH GRADE SCHOOL
WELCOME TO BHSG

Welcome to your new school! Blackfoot Heritage Sixth Grade is very unique. It is at this school that each graduating class meets for the first time. We are a great transition school from elementary to middle school. As an elementary model, we've added elements of the secondary model such as, lockers, and switching of classes for interventions and electives. We also feature many fun, school-wide project based learning activities such as The Haunted House (Science: The Study of Fear), Duct Tape Shoes (Science: Tech and Design), and Free Enterprise Fair (Math: Marketing & Business Management) and many, many more activities. Our school works in learning pods named after famous Ivy League Schools- Princeton, Harvard, Yale, and Columbia. Each pod has 3 to 4 teachers who work together in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to improve instruction, analyze student data, increase student acheivement and ensure the well-being of each student.

This year will be filled with many fun and exciting adventures. You will meet many new friends, enjoy the space of lockers, and work with incredible faculty members. Our building has a warm atmosphere and a much honored history. We encourage all of you to take a great deal of pride in being a part of Blackfoot Heritage Sixth Grade.
